It happened on Saturday, Feb. 22 at approximately 3:40 p.m. in Bay Shore.
Suffolk County Police Third Squad officers responded to a 911 call reporting shots fired and found a man shot in front of 89 2nd Ave.
The man was standing in front of a house when a car pulled up and an occupant fired multiple shots, striking the man, police said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries
Detectives are asking anyone with information call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
